For the last couple months, the Project Team has focused on understanding the opportunities, constraints, and conditions of the Kiwanda Corridor. The team has:
Met with community stakeholders to identify opportunities and concerns for the Kiwanda Corridor. Over nine meetings were held with nearby residents and businesses, neighborhood associations, public agencies, Nestucca Valley Community Alliance Board, Dorymen’s Association among others. Stakeholder meetings will continue in January, including a meeting with neighbors of Webb Park.
Gathered land survey data in the Kiwanda Corridor to ensure accuracy of project information and mapping.
Consulted with the Project Steering Committee in October and December to review design concepts for feasibility and need. The Steering Committee members include:
Rachel Hagerty, Tillamook - County Commissioners’ Office
Chris Laity, Tillamook - County Public Works
JoAnn Woelfle, Tillamook - County Parks
Melissa Rondeau, Tillamook - County Parks
Sarah Absher, Tillamook - County Department of Community Development
Jim Prinzing, Tillamook - Coast Visitors Association Board of Directors
Brook Wyntergreen, South Tillamook - County, Visit Tillamook Coast
Lisa Baker, Nestucca - Valley Community Alliance
The background work conducted by the team helped frame design concepts for the Cape Kiwanda Parking Lot, Webb Park Campground, NCVA Property, Jensen Property, and a connecting multi-use path. These design concepts will be presented at the upcoming Open House, which includes both in-person and on-line formats. The public can share feedback on the concepts presented by completing a survey that will be part of the Open House. Comments can also be sent anytime to kiwanda@tillamookcoast.com
